In 18 years of doing this thing, every installment has been carefully curated to the best of our abilities. Artists were contacted directly by the organizers and the process of submissions and acceptance was veiled in secrecy: A true "if you know you know", a clique, a secret club.

Sometimes that's the move, but this year when I (m@) and Devi spoke about 2023's offering, she brought up an idea I'd long considered but been too afraid to try: What if *anyone* could submit a track?

Holidays are SUPPOSED to be inclusive and people have long asked if they could participate. With only three weeks til release date, the gates were flung open and the invitation went out.

Songs arrived and without changing a single thing about what we got, the dino has been UNLEASHED!!! (and it has yielded quite the collection)

Not typically a thing we encounter, UNLEASHING the dino did yield some tracks with "adult" lyrics, so I marked them as explicit!!! Nothing that I can discern to be hateful or mean spirited of course, but certainly not All Ages. Hopefully I didn't miss any lyrics in other songs, but tell me if I did!

Additionally:
Any "purchase" will be considered a donation and sent to a charity. I (m@) will make up for the amount lost in bandcamp and paypal transaction fees with my own money.
In the past we have given to temporary housing for at risk young people in Toronto and an organization in New Orleans that helped addicts and the unhoused get access to resources to increase their likelihood of long term survival. We have not yet selected a charity for this year, but I will be sure to post info when I figure it out!!!

That said, this isn't a charity focused endeavor necessarily, so don't feel obligated to pay for the album. We just want you to download and enjoy!
